Gratiot Market Coming June 2025

The St. Louis and Alma Market are partnering as the Gratiot Market, with a physical year-round location at 201 North Mill Street in St. Louis.

Construction is underway with Knopf Custom Carpentry of Alma and the support of Gemini Capital Management LLC.

A year-round market and two established markets working together means:

  • Twice the food access (Snap/EBT, Double Up Bucks, Senior Project Fresh, Prescription for Health, and WIC through the vendors)
  • Twice the fun
  • Two summer locations and the addition of a winter two-day-a-week indoor location
  • Vendor application simplification
  • Twice the community resources

The St. Louis location of the new Gratiot MI Market is scheduled to open on June 5, 2025, from 2:00-6:00 p.m.

Mission Statement

The mission of the St. Louis Farmers Market is to create a diverse and thriving market place for local farmers and crafters to sell their goods. We strive to help local businesses & entrepreneurs through promotion and partnerships; to increase community access to healthy foods; to promote healthy activities; and to be a positive and fun place in the community that customers enjoy visiting again and again.

Who Are We?

The St. Louis Farmers Market was formed in partnership with the St. Louis Middle of the Mitten Association and the Gratiot Area Chamber of Commerce.

Market Manager Sara Piakowski runs the market with help from a Steering Committee made up of Gratiot Area community and business leaders. All involved are committed to creating a successful and sustainable market.

We are a year round market, with an outdoor summer market in St. Louis and Alma, that features fresh produce, flowers, plants, baked goods, unique handmade craft items, meat, honey and more. The market is located in downtown St. Louis, Michigan outside the beautiful new City Hall Building at 300 North Mill Street. This location offers plenty of parking and easy access to downtown shops and restaurants.

We strive to partner with other community groups who share our mission. This includes local non-profit groups, service clubs, the schools, human services, healthcare, and transportation services.

To keep the atmosphere fun and positive we also offer space for local musicians to perform at the market, along with events or activities that promote healthy living.
