Castle History Book
Local author David McMacken's third book regarding St. Louis’ history, The Story of Colonel Elwell’s Castle was published in 2006. This 56-page book is the wonderful story of the huge Victorian “castle” on the corner of M-46 and Delaware Street and includes information on the interesting people who have lived there. It also includes many full color photos of the interior and exterior showing the exquisite details that make this house one of the most unique in this part of the state.
